Every possible cribbage hand score
A standard four-card hand plus cut can score every total from 0 through 29 except 19, 25, 26 and 27. “Nineteen” is sometimes used as a joke for a zero-point hand.
Why are some totals impossible?
Points are constrained by the same five cards: pairs and fifteens score in twos, runs depend on consecutive ranks, and flush and nobs require particular suits. These categories cannot be combined freely. Enumerating all valid hands under these rules leaves no way to make 19, 25, 26 or 27. These exclusions apply to a single hand, not a player’s running game score. See the verified distribution of all 12,994,800 hand/cut combinations.
