Cribbage scoring rules

Fifteens

Each separate selection of cards worth fifteen scores two points. Aces count one; tens and face cards count ten.

5♣ 5♥ 5♠ J♦ + 5♦ cut: 29 points

Pairs

Every distinct pair of equal ranks is worth two points. Three equal ranks give three pairs (six points); four give six pairs (twelve points).

7♣ 7♦ 7♥ 8♣ + 8♦ cut: 20 points

Runs

Count every longest run of three or more consecutive ranks. Do not count shorter runs contained in a longer one; duplicate ranks can create multiple runs.

4♣ 4♦ 5♥ 5♠ + 6♣ cut: 24 points

Flush

All four hand cards of one suit score four. A matching cut adds one. The crib requires all five cards to match.

3♥ 7♥ 9♥ K♥ + A♣ cut: 4 points

Nobs

A Jack in your hand matching the cut’s suit scores one. Cutting a Jack awards the dealer two for heels separately from the hand count.

2♦ 7♠ 9♥ J♣ + A♣ cut: 1 points

The starter is included when finding fifteens, pairs and runs. Score each category, then add its points. The same card can help more than one category.
